Women in Governance

Training course to help women shape their communities

After our very successful consultation events, where we consulted with over 100 women across Bradford District, we then went on to deliver a course with four training sessions.

These sessions were aimed at women who are a leader in their local community, who want to have more of a say how organisations are being run, who would like a say in organisations like their child’s school, a local authority, a health authority, a community organisation, and any other organisations. Lived experience and expertise can make a difference to the local and wider community.

The well-attended sessions were training those ladies to join a governing board of a local community organisation. After the training, we hosted an event where organisations represented themselves and the ladies got matched with an organisation that suited both parties, joining their board.

We're looking forward to reports of those ladies on the boards where they now serve.
